RICHLAND, Wash. -- Benton County Republicans have whittled down the search for an 8th District State Senator to replace Jerome Delvin down to three candidates.
Six Republicans were vying for his vacant senate seat, but only Kennewick Mayor Pro Tem Sharon Brown and State Representatives Larry Haler and Brad Klippert are still in the race.
The county commissioners, including new commissioner Delvin, will make the final decision by the end of the month.
The new state senator is then off to Olympia, where the legislative session is already underway.
