KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Second Harvest food bank collected over 700 pounds of food Saturday at their food drive outside the U-Rock radio station in Kennewick.
Second Harvest serves 250 food banks across the Columbia Basin.
For this drive, they teamed up with Papa John's pizza.
People who donated got a certificate for a free pizza and one lucky raffle ticket owner wins free pizza for a whole year.
"It's great for the community to pull together and to get behind somebody. Help those that are less fortunate and help them get back on their feet and get moving a little bit. And that's a great thing for the community to just help out and pull together," said Karl Rimmasch, Papa John's Pizza.
Second Harvest said one in seven people in the region is hungry or facing hunger.
They appreciate all the food donations they get from the community.
