Benton County Deputies Arrest Teen Accused of Rape

Posted: Updated:

FINLEY, Wash. - A teenage suspect is facing charges after Benton County Sheriff's Deputies say he raped a woman in her home last Wednesday at Kelley's Estates Mobile Home Park on State Route 397.

Deputies say they were searching the trailer park Saturday night when they arrested a 15-year-old boy. They say they found evidence that gave them probable cause to arrest him.

Police say the suspect knocked on the door of the 24-year-old victim's home on Wednesday. He then forced his way in, armed with a knife, and wearing a mask with his eyes exposed. Officers say he assaulted the woman and then left.

Deputies say victim was able to identify the suspect by his eyes.

"We have him in custody now. He's presently in the juvenile detention center. And we're absolutely certain that we have our person, our suspect," said Lt. Charles Jones, Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the suspect lives in the area around Kelley's Estates.

The teen was booked into the juvenile detention facility on charges of first degree rape and first degree robbery.
