PASCO, Wash. -- Franklin PUD Commissioners are considering raising retail power rates.
At a meeting today commissioners discussed increases of 4.9% or 8% effective in May.
They say the hike is due to rising costs of power from the Bonneville Power Administration and reduced revenues from the sale of surplus power. Franklin PUD hasn't changed power rates since two decreases in 2007 and 2008.
Organizers say they will schedule public meetings in February and March for customers to comment. Commissioners are expected to make a final rate decision by March 26th.
