Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson told basketball fans in Seattle it would be best not to get too excited about getting an NBA franchise back in their city.

In front of City Hall surrounded by fans and public officials, Johnson announced the first part of his four-step plan to keep the Kings in Sacramento. He said he has 19 local investors with at least $20 million to keep the team from leaving for Seattle. A major partner who will anchor the deal will be revealed soon, Johnson said.

Johnson's announcement came just one day after the Maloof family signed an agreement to sell the Kings to a group of investors led by Chris Hansen. The sale has yet to be approved by the NBA Board of Governors.
