**PRESS RELEASE FROM SPOKANE VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT**

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - On Thursday, January 24th just after 4:00 a.m. Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Robbery call at Wal-Mart located at 5025 E. Sprague Avenue.

Deputies were told the suspect broke a glass case in the electronics' section with a hatchet and stole several Apple brand electronics.  When he was confronted by the store employees, he displayed what appeared to be a black pistol as he ran through the store.  The suspect was last seen on foot but may have been associated with a dark colored sedan seen leaving the area prior to the deputies arrival.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20's, approximately 5'10", thin and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black hat and grayish or brown cargo style pants.

Detectives believe this suspect may have also committed a similar style theft earlier in the week in North Spokane and may still be armed.

If anyone has information about this incident or can help identify this suspect, you are urged to call Spokane County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Detective Kirk Keyser at 509-477-6611.
