It is evening filled with great high school basketball matchups all around the Inland Northwest. Here is what you can expect tonight on Friday Night Fast Break.

Tonight in the girls matchups:

In IEL 5A, Post Falls (17-1, 4-1) comes in with just one loss on the season, but the team the Trojans are playing is the team that provided their lone blemish in the "L" column. Coeur d'Alene (15-4, 4-1), which is currently riding a nine game winning streak, won the January 8th meeting 47-41. Both teams are currently tied for first place with 4 and 1 records in league play.

In 1-A hoops, the Freeman Scotties are the team to beat. They are currently 17-0 and, to be honest, their games haven't even been close. In 10 of the Scotties' victories they have won by more than 20 points. They aim to make that 11 such wins at home against Chewelah Friday.

In GSL competition the top two teams aim to create separation with the rest of the league, as Gonzaga Prep travels to Ferris, and Mead heads to University. Both teams enter the night tied at 14-1 overall and 12-1 in league play.

On the boys side tonight:

In the Greater Spokane League, Central Valley sets its sights on rebounding from their only loss of the season Tuesday to Gonzaga Prep. The Bears take on Shadle Park in a 4A-3A inter-classification battle. Meanwhile, the team that handed CV that lone loss, Gonzaga Prep, travels to take on 4A counterpart Ferris. The last time these two teams played, G-Prep won a nail-biter, 58-57.

Elsewhere, there's a fierce battle between two of the top three teams in the Northeast 2B. In a rematch of last month's game, Colfax and Lind-Ritzville/Sprague duel in a clash for second place. Colfax won the previous meeting 50-45 behind University of Montana-bound Brandon Gfeller's 24 points. Currently, Colfax is one game ahead of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague for second place in standings.

In other NE 2B action, first place leader St. George's takes on Northwest Christian in the "Battle for the Holy Grail." The Dragons continue to ride a perfect 12-0 league record, but at 13-5 overall and 8-4 in Northeast 2B play, the Crusaders present a challenge – and a threat to perfection.

Tune in to Friday Night Fast Break for all of these highlights -- and plenty of others -- at 10:30 p.m. on SWX and 11:13 p.m. on KHQ.
