Muffett And Sons Storage Shop Destroyed in Fire

Posted: Updated:

ZILLAH, wash.--The Yakima County Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating a fire that destroyed a building in the Lower Valley.

A storage shop for Muffett and Sons went up in flames around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Neighbors who live only a few hundred feet away said they were woken up by their dogs.

They saw heavy smoke coming from the garage and quickly called the fire department, but it took just minutes for flames to fully engulf the building.

"They popped the door open, and as soon as they did that you could see the chief was calling them back because it just took off from there."

Neighbors and firefighters said another Muffett and Sons building sitting on that property burned down a couple years ago.

Firefighters said that fire was ruled as an arson, but a suspect was never caught.
