KENNEWICK, Wash. - About 1,300 people have passed through the Three Rivers Convention Center this week for one of the biggest conferences in our region.
The Washington and Oregon Potato Conference attracts people not only from the Pacific Northwest but around the world.
Organizers say Washington and Oregon potato growers stay on top of cutting edge technology and that new technology makes its debut every year at this conference.
"Anything that's new gets introduced here because of our yields, because of our growers who are so innovative. This is where they can introduce it. So everybody that you see here, all 120 booths, have something new to offer this year," said Potato Conference Coordinator Dale Lathim.
Lathim says it is very competitive for vendors to get into the event and they usually have a long waiting list for companies to be able to get space.
