The Washington State Northeast 2B League began district finals in high school basketball Wednesday in Spokane. The eight-team league split its eight games between Mt. Spokane High School and Mead High School.

In the early action, the top-ranked Reardan girls easily defeated Liberty, 66-26, behind 18 points from Chantel Heath and 16 points from Kelsey Moos. Reardan now moves on to play St. George's, who escaped with a 30-25 win over Mary Walker. The Dragons and Indians square off at 5:00pm Friday from Mt. Spokane High School.

Also on the girls' side, the remaining top seeds held rank, as Colfax defeated Davenport, 54-23, while Northwest Christian ran away with a 56-27 victory over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague. Those two winners meet at 3:30pm Friday also at Mt. Spokane High School.

In boys basketball action, top-seeded St. George's rolled again. The Dragons got 15 points from Mark Kenney and 14 each from Will Tender and Erik Muelheims to throttle Mary Walker 75-27. The Dragons move on to play Northwest Christian, who beat Davenport 67-60 on Wednesday. That semi-final game is slated for 8:00pm Friday at Mt. Spokane High School.

On the other side of the boys' bracket, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague used 17 points from Dylan Hartz to survive sixth-seeded Davenport, 45-40. They will move on to play Colfax at 6:30pm Friday, after the Bulldogs routed Reardan, 66-45.

The Northeast 2B championship game will take place at 6:00pm Saturday from Mead High School, although both participants in that game move on to the sub-regional tournament.
