UPDATE:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick Police are investigating a 20 month old girl who tested positive for methamphetamine.

Officers say the girl's family brought her to a hospital Monday.

Police say the girl's grandmother is her guardian, but her son 21 year old Chris Jackson had been babysitting the girl.

Officers arrested Jackson Wednesday for several unrelated warrants, possession of meth and endangerment of a child with a controlled substance.

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick Police are investigating after a 1-year-old girl tested positive for methamphetamine.

Police say the child's grandmother, who has custody, brought her to Kennewick General Hospital where doctors found the child had meth in her system.

The grandma told police she left the girl with her 21-year-old son, where she assumed the child had accidentally come in contact with the drug.

Officers say the young man has two other children who live with him, and two felony warrants for his arrest. Police say when they went to his home however, he wasn't there, but the two children were safely with relatives.

Child Protective Services currently has an administrative hold on the girl while police are investigating.
