THE DALLES, Ore. - Two people are in the hospital after one hit the other while driving the wrong way on Interstate 84 near The Dalles.
Oregon State Patrol Troopers say 88-year-old Jocelyn Gay from The Dalles missed her exit near milepost 85 and did a U-turn, thinking she was on a two-lane highway. Gay then began traveling westbound in an eastbound lane and hit 65-year-old Rebekah Darden from Umatilla nearly head-on.
Troopers closed the eastbound lanes for about 90 minutes while they cleaned up the accident.
Both women were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
