RICHLAND, Wash.-- A Richland soldier gets a warm welcome home Sunday.
Army Staff Sergeant Brianna Carter was greeted by her friends and family and the group American Citizens Encouraging Support.
Carter served for almost a year in Afghanistan as a behavioral health specialist helping thousands of soldiers with combat stress control.
She said she was overwhelmed with gratitude for Sunday's homecoming.
"It's just such a great feeling to know that people care about us. People care about what we're doing and that people haven't forgotten about us because there's times when we're over there and we think that people have forgotten about us because we're half way across the world," Carter said.
Carter has three young sons and her husband also serves in the military.
She said she's guaranteed to be home for six months, but may return overseas after that.
