YAKIMA, Wash.-- A Yakima family spent
part of their Valentine's Day handing out more than 700 bags of Valentine's
gifts and treats to homeless people.
They passed them out at the Vineyard Church.
The Reinmuth family says they came up
with the idea while volunteering at the Englewood Homeless Shelter.
Lisa Reinmuth organized a group through Facebook
to make hundreds of cookies to fill the bags.
She says many people were deeply
affected.
"Very surprised, very thankful, seen
several people start crying and say that they thought it was gonna be a bad day
and they haven't gotten a valentine in year, and they were really excited,"
said Reinmuth.
Reinmuth says she's not sure if they'll do the same thing again next
year, but they are considering similar projects for other holidays.
