Cause of fire that destroyed iconic Spokane restaurant under investigation
Spokane, Wash. After a fire early Sunday morning, all that remains of the Shogun restaurant on Third Avenue are charred menus, rubble, and memories. The early Sunday morning fire lit up the sky, and the flames were so hot they melted and bent a steel beam. Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer says it's going to take a while to determine the cause because of the dangers on the other side of the orange fence that blocks off the building from the public....

HOUSTON - A spokesman for former President George H.W. Bush says he was hospitalized Sunday morning. Jim McGrath said in a statement on Twitter Monday that Bush was admitted to a hospital in Houston after contracting an infection that spread to his blood. "He is responding to treatments and appears to be recovering," the statement said.

(AP) - The King County Sheriff's Office says a man who had left notes at bus stops seeking to buy girls underwear showed up for a meeting with an undercover detective with a gun, machete, tarp, hatchet and duct tape. Darren Frederick Jones, identified as a 42-year-old Boeing employee from Burien, was arrested last Wednesday for investigation of child sex-related crimes.

Justin Booth, second suspect in Bo Kirk murder investigation, takes plea deal

Booth will plead guilty to murder and robbery charges, while other charges against him will be dropped. The maximum penalty he faces is two life sentences and the death penalty is no longer an option.

LONDON (AP) - A Scottish man who filmed a dog appearing to give Nazi salutes has been convicted of a hate crime and fined. Mark Meechan filmed his girlfriend's pug responding to phrases such as "sieg heil" by raising its paw, and posted the footage on YouTube in 2016. Meechan said the stunt was meant as a joke, but he was convicted last month of posting "grossly offensive" material.
