I begin this Monday with an ode to spring. In Hawaii. How would it be? The Golfer in Chief – er, President Obama – spent the weekend on the course in paradise with the likes of Butch Harmon and Tiger Woods. I tell ya…. I'm in the wrong business!

Gonzaga moved up from No. 5 to No. 3 in today's new AP Top 25 poll! Again, they received two first place votes. Indiana remains No. 1, followed by Miami, who needed a heroic three-pointer to beat Clemson Sunday night. The Zags (25-2, 12-0 WCC) got two more wins last week: a 77-60 win over Saint Mary's, and a 71-61 win at San Francisco. They have two home games this week: Santa Clara (Wednesday) and San Diego (Saturday).

Congratulations to Danica Patrick! Patrick won the Daytona 500 pole on Sunday, becoming the first woman to secure a top spot for any race in NASCAR's premiere circuit.

In high school sports, congratulations to the girls from Post Falls! The Trojans defeated Coeur d'Alene 46-44 in overtime on Saturday to claim their first girls basketball state title since 2003.

Enjoy the sports, fans!
