COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - A man from Idaho accused of slapping a toddler on a Minneapolis-to-Atlanta flight made an initial appearance Tuesday in federal court.

Joe Rickey Hundley surrendered to federal agents Tuesday morning and then stood before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mikel H. Williams via video at the federal courthouse in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

The magistrate released Hundley on $10,000 bond.
Conditions of his release say the 60-year-old can not drink alcohol, possess firearms, and he must surrender his passport. He also can not travel outside of Idaho, eastern Washington, or the northern district of Gerogia, where the case will be tried.
Hundley is accused of slapping the 19-month-old boy during a flight on February 8. Hundley has been charged in Atlanta with simple assault and his attorney says he will plead not guilty.
