KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Getting your teeth cleaned can be a nuisance for some whether it's because of a lack of insurance or time. But 10 students at Phoenix High School didn't have to go very far to take care of their teeth Thursday.
Marie McElderry is a local hygienist who started her own business, Oral Health Care LLC, takes her portable equipment to schools and nursing homes, trying to make dental care more accessible, and she does it free of charge
"Even if they have insurance, a lot of it is an access issue, trying to get to the dentist while they're not working or in school. It kind of makes it tricky sometimes," said McElderry.
Oral Healthcare also provides senior citizens free preventative care at the Pasco Senior Center once a month.
