Harlem Globetrotter Promotes Anti-Bullying at Kennewick Schools

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A special treat Thursday afternoon for students at Kennewick's Sunset View Elementary.

A Harlem Globetrotter stopped by to show off his basketball skills and talk with them about following their dreams. Cheese Chisholm talked to around 600 kids, first at St. Joseph's Catholic School and then Sunset View.

The students participated in a number of activities, all while Cheese shared his anti-bullying message.

"It's a big deal. It's a real big deal because bullying has escalated especially in this new era with Facebook, Twitter, Text messages," Cheese said.

Cheese says they are trying a new program this year that includes teaching kids about the ABC's of bullying: A for action, B for bravery, and c for compassion.

The Globetrotters will perform at the Toyota Center next Monday night.
