FINLEY, Wash.- Here are  some teenagers you can keep down on the farm.

About 300 members of Future Farmers of America from throughout the Tri-Cities area practiced Friday for the statewide FFA convention in May.

Finley FFA advisor Jennifer Yochum says the students compete in skills with "real world applications, such as horse judging, agricultural sales, public speaking, and tractor driving.

"They have a written test. Then they have to drive through an obstacle course, and it's a timed course," Yochum says. "They also have to do a parts identification on the tractor."

At the May convention in Pullman, the Tri-Cities chapters will compete with other FFA members across Washington State, vying to qualify for the national convention in Indianapolis.
