Gov. Jay Inslee Confirms Six Single-Shell Tanks Leaking - NBC Right Now/KNDO/KNDU Tri-Cities, Yakima, WA |

RICHLAND, Wash. - Gov. Jay Inslee says there are now six confirmed single-shell tanks leaking at the Hanford site.

Gov. Inslee met with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu on Friday. According to Chu, an evaluation system of the tank levels was not appropriately used.

Additional evaluation of the tanks will take place in the coming days.

Gov. Inslee says there is no imminent public health threat. He says they are looking at their options and are working to come up with a solution as quickly as possible.
