RICHLAND, Wash.-- Registration is still open for the second annual Tri-Cities Half Marathon that will take place this Saturday in Richland.
The event will benefit the March for Babies organization. The half marathon starts at 8am and the fun run begins at 9:45.
The event also featured a health & fitness expo which was held Friday.
Miguel Reyna, the local race director for the half marathon in the Tri-Cites says they are expecting to attract over 1000 runners this year. Last year they had over 650 runners and over 100 volunteers.
"Running is just booming and the half marathon is the most popular distance by far. It is truly a life changing experience to be able to train and walk or run a half marathon," said Dean Reinke, National Race Director.
There will also be a party after the marathon with live music.
Participants and volunteers can register by going to the race website at tricitieshalf.com.
