HERMISTON, Ore. -- A Hermiston man is facing charges after police say he assaulted a man on Thursday.

Hermiston Police officers were called to Southeast 4th Street around 1:30PM Thursday for a report of an assault. When officers arrived at the home, they found a 22-year-old Hermiston man who had non-life threatening injuries.

After investigating, officers found and arrested 22-year-old Francisco Carrillo of Hermiston. Carillo was booked into the Umatilla County Jail on one count of second degree assault.

The victim was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston.

Police Chief Jason Edmiston says it appears the assault occurred after an argument over a "very small monetary debt."
