Taylor Bridge Fire Recovery Group Continues to Help Victims

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash.--The Taylor Bridge Fire Recovery Group is getting more than $6,000 from the American Red Cross to help the fire's victims.

The group said there are still eight to nine families struggling to make ends meet. They've either lost their house and lack insurance or essential items burned up in the fire.

The group is also working to make a list of everyone who made contributions in case a large scale disaster ever happens again.

"Go over to food, push a button and there are all the people that do that," said Lloyd Olson. "Then work closely with the people who are actually fighting the fire or dealing with the flood so that we're just right up on their heels with needs being met."

The fire recovery group said they hope to build a contingency fund containing around $10,000.
