PASCO, Wash.- Solar energy has never been hotter. That is why the Sustainable Living Center and Franklin PUD are teaming up to help you save money.
The Sustainable Living Center announced Tuesday night at a solar energy seminar that residential and commercial customers can now receive a 20% cash rebate for solar thermal and electric systems.
Approved contractors would knock the 20% off for customers and for Washington Manufactured solar equipment, there is also a 30% federal tax credit and no or a reduced sales tax.
Sustainable Living Center Weatherization Director, Dave Dahlin said, "With our incentives become very very affordable to add such things such as attic insulation, perhaps a new heat pump or a new furnace at your home that could save you a lot of energy dollars."
The 20% cash rebate applies to residential and business customers in Franklin, Columbia and Walla Walla Counties.
Dahlin said it is a great investment opportunity to go solar now, since costs are nearly half of what they were five years ago.
