Posted: Updated:

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Gov. Jay Inslee signed his first bill into law Wednesday concerning homeless and runaway kids.

The new bill will require homeless or runaway shelters to notify parents, state officials or law enforcement of a youth's location with 72 hours after they are reported missing.

A previous law expired last year.

The new measure is set to take effect in July with no expiration date.
