Bicyclist Killed After Struck by Taxi Van in Pasco

UPDATE/ PASCO, Wash.-  Pasco Police are investigating an accident that killed a 67-year-old man Wednesday night.

Officers said the man was riding his bike when he was struck by a Tri-City Taxi van on the 2200 block of West Lewis Street around 7pm in front of the Sunset Apartments.

Officers said the man died shortly after paramedics arrived on the scene.

Police are not releasing anymore details until further investigation.

Pasco Police Sergeant, Jason Miller said, " It does look like he was impacted and drug a while or rode on the vehicle for a while, which is not uncommon with accidents pedestrian or bicyclist."

Police said alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.

No charges have been filed at this time against the taxi driver.

PASCO, Wash -- Pasco Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a bicyclist and a van.

Police say a 67-year-old man was struck by a taxi cab van on the 2200 block of W. Lewis St. around 7pm.

Police believe the bicyclist was carried on the hood of the van for about 75 yards after he was hit.

Officer say the man died shortly after paramedics arrived. Police say the details of the accident are not yet know at this time.

Lewis Street in Pasco is closed between 20th Avenue and 24th Avenue.

They say alcohol does not play a factor.
