Coeur d'Alene House Destroyed By Fire

Posted: Updated:

COUER D'ALENE, Idaho - A family of four is without a home after a fire destroyed their house at 14th and Lakeside early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews arrived on scene quickly and were able to have the fire extinguished within an hour. Fire crews say the fire doesn't look suspicious and have evidence that this fire started due to faulty wiring.

KHQ Local News Reporter Dylan Wohlenhaus spoke to Pat Mitchell, a neighbor who lives across the street who told us that his friend Frank helped make sure that everyone in the house got out safely.

Fire Crews told KHQ that an old appliance was plugged in on the back porch and that is likely where the fire started.

In the meantime, the family of four is staying with friends and family in town.
