Funeral Held for Washington Woman Killed in Las Vegas Tragedy
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Washington state businesswoman killed in a fiery shooting and crash on the Las Vegas Strip was remembered at a funeral Saturday in Maple Valley.
A friend of 48-year-old Sandra Sutton-Wasmund said she was a tireless catalyst for causes, activities and events in her school and business community.
Sue VanRuff said "many people don't know Sandi for one thing. They know Sandi for lots of things."
Sutton-Wasmund was killed February 21 after a gunman opened fire on a Maserati and the car slammed into a cab in which Sutton-Wasmund was a passenger. The Maserati's driver, aspiring rapper Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr., and taxi driver Michael Boldon were also killed.
A man was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday in the case.
