KENNEWICK, Wash.- There's still time to reserve a spot for Thursday's American Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast.
The 11th annual breakfast at TRAC in Pasco is free. All proceeds from the donation you make at your table help the Benton Franklin Red Cross provide emergency services throughout the region.
Executive director Jeanne Jelke says the breakfast last year raised more than 50-thousand dollars.
"It makes you feel good about human beings. So much of the time it's not such good news, but this just grabs your heart and you say, you know, the human spirit is something magnificent when it's at its best."
The breakfast recognizes local heroes and their extraordinary acts, presented and illustrated by KNDU journalists. Before entering the breakfast, guests will experience a mock fire disaster scene and witness Red Cross volunteers and first responders helping victims of the disaster.
The breakfast starts at 6:45 a.m. Thursday and ends by 8:30 a.m.
To reserve a seat or a table, call the Red Cross in Kennewick at 783-6195, extension 207.
