Wet Weather Causes Headaches for Power Crews

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Wednesday's wet weather knocked out power for hundreds of people around the Yakima Valley.

In the Naches area, Pacific Power says more than 1,200 customers lost power at around 7am.
They say equipment failure is to blame, but crews were able to get things up and running just before noon.

In Yakima, about 700 residents lost service around 9:30am. Davis High School was also affected.

Crews were able to get power back to Davis in under two hours and restored service to everyone else by 1:30pm.

Pacific Power also says there were several smaller outages in the Lower Valley. Many of those caused by power pole fires.
