PASCO, Wash. - There are still more questions than answers after the body of a man was found in a motel Tuesday morning. There's also evidence of a fire in that same room.
Investigators have identified the man who was found by a maid at the Tahitian Motel on Lewis Street and they are confirming he is from this area. However, the man's name isn't being released until the man's family can be notified.
Pasco Police with assistance from the Washington State Patrol Crime lab finished processing the crime scene Wednesday. Now, detectives are interviewing people who knew or knew of the man and are trying to figure out what led up to his death.
"Right now it's still being investigated as a homicide, a suspicious death until we are able to determine something different. So, that's how we're handling it right now," said Pasco Police Captain Jim Raymond.
Raymond said there's really no evidence so far that points only towards a homicide, nor is there evidence that isn't a murder case. He said Thursday's autopsy of the body, which is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., will likely provide more solid leads.
