SELAH, Wash.-- Students from the Tri-Tech
Skills Center visited the Yakima Training Center today to learn more about
military vehicles.
Members of the Washington Army National Guard
gave them a tour of some of the vehicles, including an Abrams tank and a
155-millimeter artillery system.
Guard members talked about the upkeep of
the vehicles, and let the students look around inside.
"It's actually pretty nice of them
to let us come over here and just view thing things out, see what's happening
around here, Yakima," said Tri-Tech Student Irving Nunez.
"Really awesome, like, I wouldn't
think I would've been out here, you know, looking at these real machines,"
said Fidel Chavez, another Tri-Tech Student.
Guard members also spoke with the
students about career opportunities they could pursue with the guard after
graduating.
