PASCO, Wash. - Hundreds of people woke up early Thursday morning to honor our local real heroes.
Nearly 700 people attended the 11th Annual Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast at the TRAC in Pasco. The event recognizes individuals in our community who have done something heroic.
One nominee says he was shocked to find out he was being honored as a "real hero."
I didn't expect to receive anything at all so to be honored for something that I felt was a natural thing to do, to go out and help someone, it's nice," said Fire Rescue Real Hero Scott McLellan.
Thursday's event raised nearly $5,500 for the Red Cross.
