Drive-By Shooting in East Kennewick

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A drive by shooting in Kennewick late Saturday night is believed to be gang related.

Police received lots of calls from concerned neighbors that said they heard gun shots last night.

It happened at around 11:30pm on the 700 block of East 5th Avenue in Kennewick.

When officers arrived, they found one house hit by gun shots.

People were in that house when the shots were fired, but thankfully no one was hurt.

Police advise people to move quickly to a safe location if they hear gun shots and have a designated place in their home to go to in the case of an emergency.

"If they are able to leave the residence then do so immediately. If they're not then just get into a safe place inside their residence until police arrive and are able to apprehend whoever needs to be apprehended or secure the scene," said Ofc. Becca Jones, Kennewick Police Department.

Witnesses told police they saw a white SUV speeding away after the shots were fired.

Police have no suspects at this time. The shooting is still under investigation.
