FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash.-- Saint Patrick's Day is just around the corner. The holiday often involves some celebratory drinks, so law enforcement is reminding people to be on the lookout for drunk driving.
Franklin County will be increasing patrols, but they encourage you to call in any erratic driving you might see.
Deputies said when the holiday falls on a weekend, like it does this year, more people typically get caught driving drunk.
"Numerous officers throughout the Tri-Cities will be out on patrol specifically looking for DUIs. We encourage the citizens to be responsible if they're out drinking and get a designated driver. If they don't have a designated driver, we encourage them to call a taxi or a cab," said Cpl. Gordon Thomasson, Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
With the increased risk on the roads, officers want drivers to be extra alert to stay safe.
