PATERSON, Wash. - The Benton County Coroner says the man killed in Monday morning's crash was passenger 22-year-old Juan Carlos Cruz of Hermiston.
The coroner says the semi-driver, 52-year-old Shawn Miller of Pasco, rear-ended Cruz's vehicle and skidded off the roadway about 150 feet.
The coroner says the other two people in the car were Cruz's relatives, 30-year-old Jose Rogue-Lopez of Hermiston and 18-year-old Francisco Cruz of Hermiston. They were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with non-life threatening injuries.
PATERSON, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol is on the scene of a fatal accident involving a semi and 4 door sedan.
The crash happened around 6:45am Monday on State Route 221 about 2 miles north of Paterson.
Troopers say the car was stopped on SR 221 to make a left turn when the semi rear-ended the car. Troopers say one man died at the scene and two other men in the car have been taken to area hospitals, no word on their conditions. The semi driver was not hurt.
