WCC, Orleans Arena Extend Postseason Agreement

Gonzaga fans can get used to watching the conference tournament every year in Las Vegas. The West Coast Conference announced Monday it reached a three-year contract extension to hold its men's and women's postseason tournament at Orleans Arena.

"I am very pleased that the West Coast Conference and The Orleans Arena have agreed to extend our partnership for the next three years," said Jamie Zaninovich, Commissioner of the West Coast Conference in a statement. "Thanks in large part to the efforts of The Orleans management and staff, our men's and women's basketball championships have been an overwhelming success since we brought the event to Las Vegas five years ago. We look forward to improving upon the experience for our student-athletes, coaches and fans with this contract extension."

The WCC sold out Orleans Arena in four of the five years it has held the conference tournament there. And next year it will be even bigger with a 10-team bracket for both men's and women's basketball. The 7 and 10 seeds will place on the tournament's first day, with the winners joining the top 6 six seeds first competing in the quarterfinal round.

      Grinch, in his third year as the Cougars defensive coordinator, has taken the WSU defense into elite status. WSU enters the week No. 11 in the country in total defense (303.8).
