WA Man Accused of Strangling Grandparents

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE (AP) - King County sheriff's detectives say the grandparents of a man accused of killing them were strangled.

Deputies arrested Michael Chadd Boysen, 26, Tuesday after a daylong standoff at a motel in Lincoln City, Ore. He's in a Portland hospital with self-inflicted cuts.

A sheriff spokeswoman says the King County medical examiner's office has determined the cause of death for Robert Taylor, 82, and Norma Taylor, 80, was strangulation.

Detectives say Boysen killed the couple after they held a party for him Friday to welcome him home from prison, where he served one year for burglary.
