KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kamiakin High School junior donated several blankets and scarves she made herself to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Friday.

It was part of Lindsay Przybylski's school culminating project.

She says she was inspired to do this because of her aunt's recent battle with cancer who took advantage of the free scarves, blankets, and other resources the center offered.

Lindsay says she also learned how to sew for this project using her aunt's sewing machine to create the bundle of blankets and scarves.

"Well when my Aunt was going through cancer, she lost all of her hair and what she really wanted was like soft material scarves to wrap around in bright colors to be cheerful, so I made scarves they can wrap around their head," Lindsay said.

Lindsay says she spent a total of 50 hours making the items for area patients in need. The Cancer Center says patients find these homemade gifts extremely special.
