KENNEWICK, Wash. -Children
in the Tri-Cities this week are learning how math is part of their day, every
day.
Pacific Science Center's
Science on Wheels from Seattle rolled up to Ridge View Elementary School
Monday. The interactive exhibit Mathfinder gives children a hands-on
opportunity to practice probability, reflect on symmetry, focus on fractals,
and locate their center of gravity.
"There are so many issues that
are going to be coming in the next 20 or 30 years that if you don't have the
language and are not comfortable with science you're really just not going to
be an informed citizen," says Luke grange, outreach education teacher.
Pacific Science Center has five
other traveling exhibits that cover physics, space, anatomy, engineering, and
geology.
The math exhibit will show up
at Sacajawea Elementary school on Thursday.
