Boy Arrested, Linked to Rifle Stolen From Oregon State Trooper

LA GRANDE, Ore. - A 16-year-old boy is in the Union County Juvenile Department after La Grande Police arrested him Sunday in connection with a rifle stolen from an Oregon State Trooper's patrol car.

Troopers say La Grande Police arrested the boy after his relative called police to report finding a part of a gun in a bedroom. After arriving at the home, officers found the rest of the Colt M16A1 semi-automatic rifle and other evidence linked to the vehicle break-in and theft.

Troopers say they are not released the boy's name at this time.
