Bomb Squad Called To West Central Spokane For Suspicious Device

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police called in the Spokane County Bomb Squad early Wednesday morning to destroy a suspicious device found next to the Cannon park pool in west central Spokane.
 
A call came in around 1:00 A.M. to Spokane Police with the caller stating that they saw people attempting to get through a fence and into the pool area which is closed for the season.
 
After arriving officers found a suspicious device on fire on one of the benches near the pool, that's when they called in a hazardous material team as well as Spokane fire crews to block of the area while they attempted to extinguish the flames.
 
Around 2:00 A.M. police called in the Spokane County Bomb Squad to destroy the device safely.
