The program was shut down earlier this month thanks to sequestration budget cuts but congress has now agreed to reinstate the funding for the program.

The House agreed to a senate proposal Thursday to fund federal programs through September and the tuition assistance program was included in that proposal.

The president is expected to sign the proposal into law.
