13th Annual POPP Pooch and Pal Run

RICHLAND, Wash.-- More than 500 people and their furry friends ran for a good cause Saturday morning at the 13th Annual Pooch and Pal run.

The race that starts at Columbia Marina Point in Richland benefits the Pet Over Population Prevention group.

More than $10,000 were raised to help homeless dogs and cats in the Tri-Cities get a second chance at a happy home and better health.

"Dogs are family. It's great to have them come out and be together and also just because it helps so many homeless dogs and cats in our area with spaying and neutering, getting a foster family until they find a forever home, with medical costs, also with food and liter," said Kim Hobbick, Pet Over Population Prevention.

POPP is always looking for foster homes and donations.

You can find more information about how to help on POPP's website.
