Washington Legislature Approves Vietnam Veterans Day Bill
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Vietnam Veterans in Washington are one step away from having a state holiday.
The state Senate approved a measure Monday to recognize March 30 as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day." While not recognized as a legal holiday, the honor would require public entities to fly the Prisoner of War and Missing in Action flag on that date.
The House passed the measure last month. The bill now heads to Gov. Inslee for his signature.
