Americans Can Play Better in Home Playoff Games

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Americans quest for the Memorial Cup took a big hit over the weekend. The boys lost their first two playoff games in Spokane, falling to 0-2 in the series. Friday the Ams went to sleep on offense only finding the net once, but turned things around in game 2 scoring 3 goals on their first four shots. Head coach Jim Hiller says his team has room for improvement right now.

"We played okay, but okay isn't good enough. I think that's the bright spot for us is that we really haven't played well yet. And the games have been close, they've been closer than the score," said Hiller, Americans head coach. "The bright side for us is we haven't played nearly as well as we can, we're coming back into our building and we're still right there with them."

"Two obviously really tough road games. Spokane came out flying, very well structurally. Just kind of knew what we were doing out there," said Mitch Topping, Americans Defenseman.
