PASCO, Wash. - A Franklin County Judge on Wednesday sentenced the former Franklin County Public Works Accounting Manager to 16 years in prison.

The judge sentenced Dennis Huston to 8 years for first degree theft and another 8 years for money laundering. He also sentenced Huston to 60 concurrent months in prison for possession of cocaine.

Huston pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $3 million from taxpayers over the past 20 years in January. The State Attorney General's Office calls it the single largest embezzlement of public funds in Washington history.
