Man Accused Of Murdering Pregnant Wife Back In Court

Posted: Updated:

BONNER COUNTY, Idaho – On Wednesday Jeremy Swanson was back in court. Swanson is accused of murdering of his wife and unborn child in North Idaho back in December.  Investigators say that on  December 18th in the small town of Priest River, Swanson plotted to kill his pregnant wife with an ice pick. Swanson  now faces two murder charges.

On Wednesday, Swanson and his attorney acknowledged that prosecutors have enough evidence to charge him with two murder counts. Swanson did not enter a plea Wednesday, although he waived his right to a preliminary hearing. When the judge asked Swanson if he understood what he was doing by waiving his right to a prelim hearing, he replied  "yes." His next hearing is scheduled for April 15, 2013 where he will likely enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.
