Hundreds of Young Adults Show Up to Kennewick Career Fair

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Hundreds of young people showed up for a job fair at Worksource Columbia Basin in Kennewick today.

Employers from 26 different companies in the customer service, retail and food service fields were there along with military recruiters.

There's a good reason why worksource holds job fairs specifically for younger workers.

"It's harder for youth to find jobs because they're competing with people who have  more experience than they do, and so for us to bring the employers here, tell them about the opportunity and for us to kind of open that door for them, just gives them a better opportunity to find that position," said Employment Specialist Katie Haney.

Today's youth job fair targeted people between the ages of 16 and 21.
